Dear Mr. Jobs, I am a longtime customer. I've been buying Apple products since 1979. I've been an Apple developer since 1981. I was one of the first Mac developers, I was on stage with you at Flint Center in 1984 when the Mac was announced. In the last two years I've spent over $xxx on Apple computers and accessories. On December 22 I brought a MacBook into the Emeryville Apple store for repair. They said it needed a new drive. I paid $166.00 for the drive, and after the new drive was installed, I asked for the original drive, but was told I couldn't have it. That drive apparently will be refurbished and resold. I guess I can live with that, but what I can't accept is that my data, which includes bank account numbers, passwords, login information for brokerage accounts and source code, is out of my control. I know that the data can be recovered. That's what scares me. I want the drive back. I've offered to pay for the drive, buying back something that I think I already own, but I've been getting the runaround from the store. It is now 9 days later, and I still don't have the drive. They tell me the drive is still at the store. But they won't let me have it. Please help me get my drive and my data back. Thanks in advance. Dave Winer
